Professional Fraudster
Rod Greener Fraudster
Beware in dealing with this man.
Rod Greener is currently being investigated by the Police Scotland for perpetrating a confidence scam involving a fake order from the German retailers Thomann. The scam involved him building trust with local guitar traders, giving them steady flow of stock (which was actually just a shell game of moving around the traders guitars between them) to give the illusion he was getting regular deliveries, then a large deal on deeply discounted guitars coming from Thomann that requires cash up front. The order from Thomann is then constantly delayed and Rod regularly pressures the 'investors' into putting more money in.
He has also done a similar scam in Berwick Upon Tweed involving the supply of carpet to carpet fitters.

Information needed
Rod is a very seasoned con man and has now started working on music shops and Gumtree sellers in the Berwick Upon Tweed area, leaving a trail of victims in the Glasgow area. He has three known associates, Sharleene Gallacher, John McGartland and John Laidlaw.

Sharleene Gallacher is Rod Greener's partner, and Rod uses her internet profile on Facebook to trade guitars. Rod has very recently messages people through this identity claiming to be Sharleene and selling guitars that belonged to her recently deceased partner.

John McGartland is Rod's accomplice, and is used to 'independently' 'prove' that the Thomann order is real. John helps squeeze marks for more money by claiming that he has paid non existent import duty and received non existent orders. John also sells guitars which Rod has taken in part exchange but not actually given any exchange for and operates a Facebook Marketplace page called Music Man in which he sells ill gotten goods and forgeries.
John has an independent line in Tanglewood acoustics from an unknown source he gets in bulk and is highly suspicious too.

John Laidlaw is apparently putting Rod up in Berwick Upon Tweed just now, and potentially helped him sell some stolen guitars to a Berwick retailer recently. I am less certain of his involvement, so happy to remove this section if Mr Laidlaw contacts me.
